Snow White CD

On 1st November 2011, Orchid Records will release a magical recording of Eleanor Alberga's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs starring Danny De Vito, Joanna Lumley and Griff Rhys Jones with the Talesin Orchestra, conducted by Peter Ash. This text of this family friendly CD is adapted from Roald Dahl’s classic Revolting Rhyme. Royalties from the piece will raise funds for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity, which provides funds to help seriously ill children.

Produtions of Fantastic Mr Fox

Tobias Picker's opera, Fantastic Mr Fox has received three separate productions this year. English Touring Opera kicked things off, taking the opera to many of Britain’s best-loved theatres, including The Hackney Empire, Buxton Opera House and Snape Maltings. Microscopic Opera of Pittsburgh (pictured), brought the piece back to America in October 2011, and Opera Holland Park staged another sold-out run of performances on their open-air Yucca Lawn stage over the summer. OHP have announced that they hope their production of Fantastic Mr. Fox will become a permanent fixture in their summer schedule.

The Golden Ticket

Daniel Okulitch will be returning to the role of Willy Wonka in The Golden Ticket, Peter Ash’s opera based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with a libretto by Donald Sturrock. James Robinson's critically acclaimed production opens in Atlanta, Georgia in March 2012 with four performances conducted by the composer. One performance will be streamed live over the internet.
